Property is available for release 24 / 7 by appointment only. Currency and other valuables are released, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Property may be released to the owner of record with proper identification. Accepted forms of identification include a drivers license, government issued ID card, or a certified birth certificate.
Property Release by Persons
If the property to be released belongs to another person, that person must have in addition to identification, a notarized letter authorizing power of attorney. These documents must include:
- Owner's name
- Address
- Phone number
- A description of the property
- The name of the owner's designee
Evidence
Evidence may be released by the officer of record, or by presentation of a court disposition form indicating that the case has been disposed of. Weapons seized for either safekeeping or as evidence may only be released with the approval of the Chief of Police.
