Welcome
We are dedicated to providing high-quality programs, events, and facilities that engage residents of all ages and bring our community together. From youth sports and adult fitness to cultural programs and stewardship of our parks and beaches, we strive to support a healthy, active, and engaged North Kingstown community.
Mission & Vision
It is the mission of our department to offer inclusive and affordable recreational opportunities and multigenerational programs that promote health, learning, and community connection.
Through strong partnerships with schools, sports leagues, and local organizations, we support recreation for all ages.
We are committed to the development and maintenance of municipal facilities, including the North Kingstown Golf Course, Allen Harbor Marina, Town Beach, and our many parks and playgrounds, to fulfill the diverse and dynamic interests of our community.
Registration for Programs, Classes & Additional Resources
Please visit our Recreation Catalog for a complete directory of current programming for preschoolers, youth, teens, and adults that include the arts, theatre, sports, social engagement opportunities, and certification classes such as CPR, babysitting, and others. This allows you to browse and register for all programming.

Volunteer
In 2025, our volunteer program was reinvigorated to include opportunities for older youth and adults, including corporate groups and collaborative community service organizations. For details regarding the available volunteer for you or your group with the Recreation Department, please visit our Recreation Catalog or in person Recreation Department located at Town Hall 80 Boston Neck Road M-F 8:30am-4:30pm.

In addition to the Town of North Kingstown's social media pages on Facebook and Instagram, the Department of Recreation also maintains a presence independent accounts on those platforms for increased transparency for the community regarding program information, registration dates, impacts due to inclement weather, and special events.

Professional Memberships
To foster industry best practices and innovative programing with inspiration from recreation departments and professionals in our region and beyond, the North Kingstown Recreation Department maintains memberships with Rhode Island Recreation and Parks Association and National Recreation and Park Association.
