Assessment Board of Review
The Assessment Board of Review shall hear assessment appeals if the taxpayer is still aggrieved after initial appeal to the Assessor. Appeals to the Board must be filed within 30 days of the Assessor’s initial decision of the original appeal.

This Board has the authority to hear appeals on interpretation, order, requirement and direction by the Building Official and to grant variances to the building code.

Charter Review
This commission convenes at the request of the Town Council to consider and make recommendations concerning any issue or issues relating to the Charter, or provisions thereof.

Friends of the Library Executive Board
The purpose of the Friends is to maintain an association of persons interested in books and libraries to focus public attention on library services, facilities, and needs; to advocate for public support for library issues; to stimulate gifts and acquisitions; and to raise funds to be used for the improvement of the North Kingstown Free Library.

Government Center Planning Work Group
This work group explores appropriate locations and building requirements for a combined town and school administrations facility.

Ground Water Committee
The committee assists the town in planning future land and water use; facilitate the implementation of the Groundwater Protection Plan; promote public interest in and understanding of groundwater.

Harbor Management Commission
The Harbor Management Commission is the local advisory body to the Town Council, authorized to recommend policy for the coastal waters and harbor areas of the Town consistent with the Harbor Management Plan and any subsequent ordinances.

Historic District Commission
Before a property owner may authorize or commence construction, alteration, repair, removal or demolition affecting the exterior appearance of a structure or its appurtenances within the Historic District, the owner must apply for and receive a certificate of appropriateness from the Historic District Commission.
